The 20 Minute morning show is an opinionated driven show with three host who present their ideas in a bold new refreshing way. They take a no holds bar approach with each other and not be offended.
The island of Oahu is known for its beaches and tourist attractions, but its buzzing film community isn’t far behind. On the heels of the island’s outstanding, “Ala Moana Boys,” a film by writer Alexander Deedy and directed by Keli’I Grace, a local production company, Eagle Brook Entertainment, will premiere it’s film, “3 Days Leave,” at Pearl Ridge’s Consolidated Theatre on November 18th.
Filmed on island with local talent and crew, this premiere will be a first time reveal to them as well.
“Each character within this project was forced outside of their comfort zones to become characters that didn’t reconcile with their own. It will be our extreme pleasure for them to see how it all played out,” says 3 Days Leave Writer, Producer, Director E.W. Brooks.
“We’re a new presence here on island but we were able to hire 10 crewmembers from the community and to pour into local businesses by utilizing their rentals. This is what it's about for me as a business owner, said Eagle Brook CFO, Anthony Brooks, “that is the magic behind the scenes. That’s what makes it worth it".
Local Female Cinematographer, Jannis Ortegon and Hawaii 50 Actress Judy Nguyen were a part of the cast and crew, just over 50% female. “If we all do our part to tip the scales toward equality in the workplace, maybe we can look up one day and see something different out there,” says the film’s Director.
3 Days Leave takes a hyperbolic look at police violence through a Rambo-centric lens. However, its creators are clear, “Don’t think you know our stance because you’ve seen our art. Our goal was to create a piece that would push the dialogue forward. That is it and that is all,” says Writer E.W. Brooks.
